If you love chocolate and hassle-free desserts, you are going to love this recipe! These homemade chocolate truffles have only a few ingredients and endless possibilities for flavors and toppings. Today I'll be sharing my truffle base recipe as well as seven of my favorite flavor and topping combos. Enjoy!!

Chocolate Truffles
Total Time : 2 hours
Yields : 24 truffles
Base Ingredients:
8 oz quality chocolate, finely chopped
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
Steps
Add chopped chocolate and butter to a large bowl. Heat cream, either on stove or in microwave, until simmering. Pour cream over chocolate and let sit for about five minutes. Do not stir the chocolate during this time!
After five minutes has passed, add any extra ingredients that you'd like. Stir the mixture until it is cohesive and there are no lumps. Pour mixture into a large and deep pan, I used a sheet cake pan. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
After one hour, use a spoon, and your hands, to shape the truffles. Let them sit in the fridge for about 30 minutes more; this will make them easier to work with. Remove the truffles from the fridge and roll in desired toppings.
